5-star linebacker Zayden Walker, from Schley County, committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. The nation's 10th-ranked recruit was a possible flip candidate until his latest visit to Georgia.

Georgia Bulldogs Land 5-Star Commitment Zayden Walker

Walker decided to commit to the Bulldogs after an official trip to Athens this past weekend, canceling his upcoming visits to Miami and South Carolina. During his recruitment, which started in his freshman year of high school, Georgia's defensive coordinator, Glenn Schumann, played a pivotal role as his main recruiter.

As the newest commitment, Walker is the highest-ranked recruit in the Bulldogs' class of 2025. The class also includes tight ends Elyiss Williams (ranked 29th in the ESPN 300) and Ethan Barbour (ranked 43rd), linebacker Jadon Perlotte (ranked 66th), offensive tackle Mason Short, quarterback Ryan Montgomery (ranked 125th), and defensive linemen Darren Ikinnagbon (ranked 217th) and Stephon Shivers (ranked 288th).

Following their top-ranked signing class in the 2024 cycle, Georgia is currently positioned at 13th in ESPN's latest 2025 team rankings. With Walker's commitment, Kirby Smart and his team have secured a foundational player as they aim for their ninth consecutive top-three class.

What's next for Georgia and Walker will be interesting. He had visits lined up over the next few weeks at Penn State, Miami, and South Carolina. If those are canceled, Smart can rest easily. But if not, it's possible Walker is still a flip possibility.

For now, the two-way star is a big-time hit for the program. He's a clearly outstanding athlete at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, and could be an early-round NFL draft pick if that movement ability translates as he moves from the edge and running back to an off-ball linebacker.
