Bills are among the NFL's worst in forcing three-and-outs

The Buffalo Bills haven't been close to meeting expectations over the past few weeks. A loss to the Cincinnati Bengals has a majority of the Bills Mafia calling for the firing of Ken Dorsey and/or Sean McDermott. Put plainly, it's been really bad.
From Josh Allen opening up on the struggles of Dorsey's schemes, to McDermott giving blunt responses on the struggles while also giving definitive answers on Dorsey's future, it hasn't been pretty.
Tie that in with the injuries that have plagued the defensive side of the football, forcing the team to have Josh Norman play a few snaps toward the end of the game against Cincinnati, it just adds insult to injury.
When the offense can't get going, and the defense is struggling to stop offenses, it's no surprise that Buffalo has found itself in a slump. But just how bad is the defense, really? Well, Peter DiBiasi, content creator for Built in Buffalo, shared an interesting graph that showcases the defense struggles.
Yes, Josh Allen and the offense have been bad, not doing the defense any favors by going three and out or just simply not scoring points. However, we get a first real look at what the defense is lacking with the injuries across the board.
Buffalo currently sits in the bottom half of the league in forcing three-and-outs. Long, sustained drives from the opposing offenses leave the already depleted defense on the field longer, risking injury or miscues with some of the newer members being forced into tough spots.
Not only that, but it limits the team's ability to change up field position, making life easier for Allen and the offense to get things going.
We would love to just say, "Well, there you have it! Just stop teams more and you're golden." That just simply can't be done. Sean McDermott is a defensive-minded head coach and with all the injuries the team has faced, he's going to have to get extra creative in order to help this defense get off the field.
All that's left to do is wait for Monday Night Football to see what kind of changes the front office might make. One thing is for certain, this team needs to be better on both sides of the football.
DaQuan Jones just gave the Bills Mafia a big reason to celebrate
The Buffalo Bills have been depleted on defense with injury after injury. Star defensive tackle DaQuan Jones took to social media with an inspiring message.
