The Buffalo Bills are fresh off another frustrating end to a season.
Once again, it came far too early for one of the most talented and well-coached teams in the regular season. Plain and simple, the Cincinnati Bengals outplayed them in every phase of the game this past weekend.
In snowy conditions, Joe Burrow out-battled Josh Allen, and Cincy's defense held up much better in the trenches. The Bills were without one of their best players in the secondary once again, unfortunately.
Star safety Micah Hyde was unavailable due to injury. He played in just two games for Buffalo this season. Hyde is a game changer for the Bills, and they missed him dearly this season.
After the loss to the Bengals, Hyde discussed his frustrations with his injury and his potential return.
The Bills safety says that he would have played last week if they beat Cincinnati.
It has been clear throughout the season that Hyde has worked hard to come back for Buffalo, but it never worked out. He wasn't medically cleared last week until it was too late for him to play.
The team, as a whole, dealt with plenty of injuries that heavily affected the depth of their roster.
Hyde has been one of the most underrated safeties in the NFL during his time with the Bills.
Buffalo has an opportunity to get out of Hyde's contract during this offseason, but that would new a surprise. Next season is Hyde's final year under contract, and he is still playing very good ball when healthy.
The Bills need him to bounce back next season.
