One Bills player stands out as a strength within weak unit

While the Bills offense finished the season ranking as one of the best units in the entire league, it's hard to ignore how "boom-or-bust" its operation was like at times.
All of that starts up front as Allen couldn't operate from the pocket consistently because he didn't have the pass pro.
The Bills' offensive line finished the season as a bottom-12 team in pass blocking, per PFF's grades. While those grades are always subjective, it paints a fair portrayal of what happened in Buffalo in 2022.
Heading into the offseason, many changes should be considered for the position group. There are some who don't even rule out moving on from OL coach Aaron Kromer.
There was one clear exception though. Center Mitch Morse, who remains a Top 5 player at his position. At least according to NFL colleagues and opponents of his.
The NFLA honored the best players in the game by releasing the Top 5 players at every position after having players vote on their own position plus those who they line up against.
Here's what the Center rankings looked like:
- Jason Kelce, Eagles.
- Frank Ragnow, Lions.
- Corey Linsley, Chargers.
- Creed Humphrey, Chiefs.
- Mitch Morse, Bills.
During the season, Morse allowed only 20 pressures while the other four starters allowed 32. Even though Morse missed two games, it's still an impressive gap. He had the second-highest pass-blocking grade among OL starters on the Bills, too. Left tackle Dion Dawkins was #1.
Morse wasn't the only Bills player to be honored by the rest of the league, by the way. Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Matt Milano, Jordan Poyer, and Tyler Bass also cracked into their respective Top Fives.
