The Buffalo Bills' loss to the Jets rests on the shoulders of Josh Allen. Put plainly, he needs to be better. While our hearts were ripped out of our chests (football is so back), it's what happened at the end of the game that gives us real cause for concern.
Just moments before the overtime period was set to begin, Micah Hyde had left the field with a trainer and didn't see the field again. Since that moment, there's been no real update from the team, until now.
In his most recent press conference, Sean McDermott provided a cryptic message on not only Hyde's injury status but the rest of the team's. With the Bills Mafia always fearing the worst (trauma from 20 years of bad football) this wasn't the best way to go about announcing the injury update in our opinion.
When speaking to the media, the Bills Mafia were once again on the receiving end of some cryptic messaging. Luckily, it wasn't from WR Stefon Diggs causing a media firestorm like he had all offseason. Instead, it was from the head coach himself.
Alaina Getzenberg, ESPN reporter for the Buffalo Bills, went to X with McDermott's comments. During the press conference, the Bills head coach said that the team's injury report is "rather clean."
Once again, McDermott finds a way to rile up the fans with two words and a cryptic message to the fanbase. Bills Mafia remembers all too well when he said he was "very concerned" that Diggs wasn't at camp, now add "rather clean" to the list of words that give us bubble gut.
More likely than not, the team is healthy and Hyde is okay. However, with Hyde missing almost the entirety of last season and getting injured with nearly no communication after the game, we are starting to get a little worried.
All will be well in the world once we see Hyde and company back on the football field. For now, we will do our best not to freak out.
