The Buffalo Bills have been struck by one of the nastier injury bugs across the NFL through nearly seven weeks of the NFL season. From DaQuan Jones and Matt Milano to Tre'Davious White, the team is struggling.

Just to add further insult to injury, after the contest against the New York Giants, the Bills' superstar QB Josh Allen needed X-rays which he was later deemed to be day-to-day from Sean McDermott and has been practicing all week, giving the Bills Mafia a sigh of relief while his status for Sunday is still up in the air.

Now, another injury to the defense that could have a big impact on the contest. One of the Bills' best defenders, Ed Oliver, found his way on the injury report and McDermott provided a concerning update on Oliver's ability for Sunday. While there is still plenty of time to make it happen, things aren't looking good for his availability.

As Matt Parrino reported, McDermott opened up that Oliver is hopefully going to practice tomorrow, but he's out today along with Damien Harris and Quintin Morris. Adding his usual cryptic twist, McDermott responded with "We'll see" when it comes to Oliver and his chances to play on Sunday.

At this point, the team needs all the help they can get on the defensive side of the football, as we outlined, they are struggling with injuries at the moment, and getting their stud defensive tackle into the contest will go a long way, even against a struggling Patriots unit.

All that's left to do is wait, and hope, that Oliver can use this much-needed rest and be ready to go for their upcoming contest.
