Despite the recent traumatic injury to Damar Hamlin, the Buffalo Bills are somehow preparing for a football game.
Their division rival New England Patriots are coming into town for the last game of the season. With Hamlin's incredible improvement, emotions are going to be at an all-time high for the game. The entire nation is going to be tuning in.
While Buffalo has already locked up a playoff spot, getting a win is still imperative. With a win on Sunday, it would guarantee that a Bills/Chiefs potential AFC Championship game would be played on a neutral field. Unless Kansas City loses to the Raiders, then a win from the Bills means the playoffs run through Buffalo.
With Kansas City knocking the Bills out of the playoffs the past few seasons in Arrowhead, getting the game away from that stadium is something all of the Bills Mafia would prefer.
It seems as though Buffalo will have the entire country by their side on Sunday. Josh Allen and the team, despite Hamlin's injury, seem ready for battle. New England and Bill Belichick may not be prepared for what's to come.
In fact, New England without Brady against these Buffalo Bills the past few years has not fared well for Bill Belichick and company.
Aside from the disastrous wind game Buffalo has put on a show against the Patriots. This could be due to the fact that the Patriots single handily destroyed the Bills' spirits for the better part of almost two decades.
Nevertheless, it appears that every time Josh Allen and the Bills take on the Pats, it's a slugfest.
Josh Allen has been the difference maker in the matchup between these two teams by limiting his turnovers and having a nearly perfect passer rating. Upset alerts won't save the Patriots, not when number 17 is on the field for Buffalo.
Not only that, but the Buffalo defense has balled out against the Tom Brady-less Patriots over the past few years. The Bills are +87 against the Patriots during that span of time, an impressive feat over a Belichick-led team.
Merely to pour more salt into the wound of Bellichick and the Patriots, last year's playoffs was a passing of the torch type moment. Bills Mafia will remember all too well what went down in that historic game. Buffalo became the only team in NFL Postseason history to pitch a 'perfect' offensive game. Buffalo had seven drives with seven touchdowns. No field goals, punts, or turnovers.
Any given Sunday is very real, and with all the emotional turmoil there is a chance that Buffalo may lay an egg and succumb to Belichick and the Patriots. However, if history is any indication that isn't likely. The Patriots are seemingly about to walk into a buzzsaw
Bills Mafia is going to be ready tomorrow. Belichick might need some headphones, it's going to be loud.
