The Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals face off for the (actual) first time this season. Each team in the midst of their own multi-game win streak for a chance to advance to the AFC Championship.
A marquis matchup between a pair of elite quarterbacks. Defending AFC champion Joe Burrow and Bills MVP candidate Josh Allen.
At the moment, Allen and the bills are 4-point favorites heading into Sunday but they could be following a dangerous trend.
The Bills started the season with two wins before their first loss. Followed up by doubling their output with four straight wins and back-to-back losses. To date, they're in the middle of an 8-game win streak, meaning the pattern suggests they will lose to the Bengals.
However it's not just the fact that the Bills lost, but how they lost.
All close games by a combined eight points, Allen throwing four interceptions and six fumbles (two losses) and completing only 63.6% of his passes.
Now going up against a defense in Cincinnati who has only lost once all year when causing at least two turnovers in a game. Undefeated when doing both and allowing under 64% completion.
Stats can be two things: indicative of a trend or sporadic. Buffalo would prefer the second option.
Can the Buffalo Bills overcome their own self-destructive pattern and get one step closer the Super Bowl?
