The Buffalo Bills cemented the number two seed in the NFL playoffs with a 35-23 victory over the New England Patriots.
Buffalo had all the momentum from the opening kick, in which Nyheim Hines returned it for a touchdown. The unbelievable moment was one that Bills fans, and fans of the entire sporting world won't soon forget.
Hamlin was quick to respond with his own words of encouragement following the incredible start to the game.
Throughout the matchup, Hamlin made sure to give his support through social media on the Bills' success on the field. The talented safety even had a direct message for the Bills Mafia, a message the fan base will never forget.
Everything that happened on the field was for Damar. The patches on the jerseys, the hats, the number three being highlighted on the field, everything was to honor him. In one of the more emotional points in the game, after a John Brown touchdown, the wide receiver gifted the hero who administered CPR on Hamlin the football.
Emotions were running high throughout the contest as the team was playing for something much bigger than themselves.
Getting the win was a huge boost for the community and sent a message to Damar that the team will continue to fight and stack up wins in his honor.
Hamlin still has a long road to recovery, but it was an encouraging sign seeing him cheer on his teammates from the hospital room during this crucial victory.
Now, Buffalo will look to take on the Dolphins for the first round of the NFL playoffs.
Emotions will be high, and we're sure Damar will be watching.
All that's left to do is win the whole darn thing. This victory, and every other victory this season, is for Damar.
