Buffalo Bills (5-1) quarterback Josh Allen added a road win over Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) to his MVP resumé on Sunday.

Allen completed 27-of-40 for 329 yards and three touchdowns en route to Buffalo’s thrilling 24-20 victory. Allen added 32 yards on the ground, including one of the best plays of the 2022 NFL season.

This marks the second straight season the Bills have gone on the road to defeat the Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium. It’s rare to beat the Chiefs in one of the loudest stadiums the NFL has to offer, but to do it twice in as many years makes the feat all the more impressive.

In fact, Allen became the first quarterback to top Mahomes twice in Arrowhead Stadium.

Obviously, the Bills would have preferred to sneak out of Kansas City with a win in last year’s AFC Divisional Round matchup, but this win puts Buffalo in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Allen spoke to the media following his performance, and when he was asked if there was a sense of redemption Allen shook it off.

“Not for me,” said Allen. “I think some guys might think differently. Nothing we did last year translates to this year. All we have to do is focus on the next one and today was the next one.”

If both teams stay the course, the next one could come in late January with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
