Before re-signing any of their unrestricted free agents, the Cincinnati Bengals took care of business with both of their exclusive rights free agents.

Cincinnati tendered exclusive rights for long snapper Cal Adomitis, and quarterback Jake Browning Wednesday morning.

Adomitis and Browning were ERFAs because they haven't accrued enough seasons in the NFL to become restricted or unrestricted free agents. This gave the Bengals complete control over their rights this offseason.

Bengals will have Jake Browning for cheap once again

Browning being an ERFA meant that his salary was set to be locked in based on the number of accrued seasons attached to his name. This past season was his first accrued, so he is set to earn $915,000 as a one-year player. Adomitis has now accrued two seasons, and will earn $985,000.

All the Bengals had to do was place the tender on each player, and they'll be under contract for the 2024 season. Neither player had a choice in the matter, as being an ERFA eliminated their chances to play elsewhere this upcoming season.

The Bengals had no business moving on from either player in the first place. Adomitis has been a reliable long snapper since 2022, and will continue to hold that role going forward. Browning made a name for himself while finishing the 2023 season in place of Joe Burrow, throwing for 1,936 yards and 12 touchdowns while also leading the league in completion percentage at 70.4%.

Browning solidified himself as Burrow's backup moving forward, and his free agent status gave the Bengals an easy way to retain him. Expect him to be in Cincinnati beyond 2024 as well.
