The Cincinnati Bengals are becoming a premier destination in free agency and it's all thanks to the presence of quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow is the sport's next true superstar. The former LSU standout took the Bengals from 4-11-1 in 2020 to the Super Bowl in 2021, despite the team having major deficiencies along the offensive line (I think every football fan in the country knows by now that Burrow was sacked 70 times last year, including the playoffs).

As a result of Burrow's emergence, Cincinnati has turned into a top free-agent destination.

And The Athletic predicted this week that the Bengals will land one of the top players available this offseason. They have Cincy signing future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski.

From The Athletic:

If the Bengals lose C.J. Uzomah, they could look to add Gronk on a one-year deal. He’s 33 but still finished last season with 55 catches for 802 yards and is an excellent blocker.

Last month, Gronkowski said that if he couldn't play with Tom Brady (who is currently "retired"), he'd like to play with Burrow.

“I kinda like this young buck quarterback…It’s Joe Burrow, man,” said Gronkowski (via Pro Football talk).

“I watched him in college. I just love the way he presents himself out on the football field. In the pocket, he’s just so calm, and he just slings it out on the field. I just love his swag, too. If I had to pick a quarterback it’d be the young buck Joe Burrow. He’s killing it right now in the game.”

Gronk (who spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) on the field with Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Joe Mixon, and Tyler Boyd could lead to the most explosive offense in the NFL in 2022.

This isn't the only big free agent signing The Athletic has the Bengals making this offseason, by the way. They also have Cincinnati signing offensive guard Austin Corbett and re-signing offensive tackle Riley Reiff.

Those would be two solid signings since we all know the Bengals' offensive line desperately needs to be improved this offseason.
