Cleveland Browns Week 2 opponent the Pittsburgh Steelers just took another big blow ahead of the Monday Night Football matchup.
In back-to-back days, the Steelers have lost two very important players for at least a few weeks. After it was announced yesterday that defensive lineman Cam Heyward would miss time, it was made known today that wide receiver Diontae a Johnson would not be playing on Monday either.
Johnson had three catches for 48 yards in the season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers before he had to exit with a hamstring issue.
It is a big loss for the Steelers, who will now be without their No. 1 wide receiver. Young talent George Pickens will now be the No. 1 option and veteran Allen Robinson will be the No. 2 option. Robinson led the Steelers with 64 yards receiving in the opener.
This is a big loss for second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett and the offense as a whole. Johnson is a Pro Bowl-level wide receiver who had 882 yards receiving last year and over 1,100 in 2021.
Cleveland was already the slight favorite, now that line could be moving more in Cleveland’s favor ahead of Monday Night Football.
