Deshaun Watson roasted in social media fight between Brady Quinn and Watson's QB coach

Well, things for Deshaun Watson just got personal.

The Cleveland Browns are 4-2, but that is no thanks to Watson. The Browns' $230-million man played 12 snaps in Week 7, and a former team quarterback believes the injury-riddled, poor-play-filled season stems from Watons not feeling incentivized to play after receiving a record-breaking contract.

On X, the website formerly known as Twitter, former Browns quarterback Brady Quinn offered his opinion on Watson's play — or lack thereof — which caused a reaction from Quincy Avery, Watson's personal quarterback coach.

"Everyone else with a medical opinion just clears him pretty much," Quinn said on the radio segment. "It's kind of similar to this: you get a kid who gets a trust fund, right? $230 million, and it's like, 'Hey, you want to go out and get a job?' And he's like, 'not really. I've got $230 million coming. I'm good.' That's what it kind of feels like."

Avery didn't appreciate the segment. In a now-deleted post, the quarterback coach said Quinn had no idea what he was talking about and that the former NFL quarterback was just "gossiping like a high school chick."

To which Quinn said he was open to talking in person — any time.

Avery replied to the message, stating Quinn was talking about things he didn't know. That is when Quinn came from the top rope in a message that read, "How about we massage this conversation and get it to a happy ending? Does that sound satisfactory?"

The interaction can be seen in the screenshots below.

Social media fights aside, the Browns find themselves in another quarterback crisis — something that wasn't supposed to happen when the team traded a king's ransom for Watson, who was supposed to be the guy.

There are no more excuses left. It isn't rust. And if Watson is injured, he shouldn't have been playing in the first place. Watson has played one good game in 10 chances in a Browns uniform.

That isn't who the Browns paid $230 million in a near league-breaking deal. With another injury to Watson, the Browns' only real option is to trade for a better quarterback option while Watson remains out. Some things may have changed, but quarterback uncertainty remains the only guaranteed reality for Cleveland for the foreseeable future.

To have a defense play this well and no quarterback to captain the offense is franchise malpractice. But in Cleveland, that wouldn't be anything new in the first place.
