Broncos release CB Ronald Darby to save cap space
It wasn’t an easy decision, but the Broncos had to make it.
The Denver Broncos just made yet another tough decision regarding their roster to create cap space in cutting cornerback Ronald Darby.
Darby will save the Broncos $9.6 million in cap space, which is about what they had before.
You factor in Edmonds getting cut and the Broncos are staring at around $24 million in cap space, which sets them up a whole lot better for free agency, per Over the Cap.
Darby was a Defensive Rookie of the Year Award finalist in 2015 when he played with the Buffalo Bills, as he finished second in the voting.
With the Broncos, he played in 16 games and had nine pass deflections and 67 tackles. Darby struggled with injuries and never really found his groove.
