Ready for another development in the Green Bay Packers/Aaron Rodgers saga?

It feels like there's something new every hour and we're still in January.

The latest development involves a commitment that Green Bay reportedly made to Rodgers.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Packers have promised to trade Rodgers if that's what he wants.

Pelissero's comments about Rodgers came during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show.

"The Packers, based on the conversations they've had, have made, if not in writing, a commitment that if he (Rodgers) wants to go someplace else, they will work with him on a trade," said Pelissero.

This pretty much confirms that Rodgers is calling the shots this off-season. The Packers might have a plan, but that plan won't really matter until Rodgers decides what he wants to do in 2023. If he wants to return to the Packers and refuses a trade (he can threaten to retire), then it will tie Green Bay's hands a bit.

So once again, the Packers are waiting on Rodgers. And none of us know how long that will take.

Though knowing Rodgers, I'd expect at least a few more weeks of theater (if not longer) before anything is decided.
