The Green Bay Packers (3-6) learned Sunday morning that Los Angeles Chargers (4-5) wideout Keenan Allen is expected to play in Week 11's matchup, so it makes the fact that Packers All-Pro cornerback, Jaire Alexander, is expected to play, as well.

Per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, the Packers expect Alexander to suit up on Sunday after missing last week's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Keenan Allen isn't the only guy the Packers defense needs to keep a close eye on

Despite their overall record, the Chargers offense is still nothing to play with. Alexander's return is huge, especially when considering the team traded Rasul Douglas a couple of weeks ago. Having to try and corral this offense with a bare-bones secondary is something no team wants to deal with.

Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler round out a deadly trio and if Josh Palmer were healthy, it'd be a quartet. Regardless, containing Los Angeles won't be an easy task for Joe Barry and co.

Speaking of Barry, it'll be interesting to see how he bounces back from a poor play-calling performance against the Steelers. The run defense was gashed all day long and the defense, as a whole, gave up 17 points on the first three drives of the game. The unit buttoned up, a bit, afterward, but had already put the offense in a 17-3 hole and we all know the Packers offense isn't a unit built to come back from behind. Especially when down by multiple touchdowns.

Alexander has missed four games this season and has yet to record an interception after snagging a career-high five picks in 2022. Per Pro Football Focus, quarterbacks average the sixth-best QB rating (128.2) when targeting Alexander – that's among 82 qualifying corners with at least 192 coverage snaps.

Still, he's easily the team's best cornerback and he's still one of the best corners in the NFL. Even with the struggles. Regardless, the Packers are going to need him to be on his game and ready to go against the Chargers.

Update: Alexander was declared inactive for the game.
