CJ Stroud has had an extremely impressive start to his NFL career. Through two games, Stroud has completed 63.7% of his passes for 626 yards, 2 touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

The rookie is currently behind only Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, and Matthew Stafford in passing yards. While that impressive play has not yet translated to wins, it's encouraging nonetheless to see a rookie signal-caller look so poised and comfortable.

NFL Communications recently posted a stat that demonstrates just how impressive Stroud has been.

Only Todd Marinovich, Justin Herbert, Kyler Murray, and Cam Newton have thrown for more yards than Stroud through their first two NFL games. Stroud has 626 while Cam Newton, the all-time leader, had 854.

Marinovich had a short-lived NFL career, but Herbert, Murray, and Newton were, or still are in Herbert's case, borderline-elite QBs at times. It remains to be seen if Stroud will fit into that category, but he's certainly off to a great start.

Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of Stroud's start is the lack of turnovers. He has fumbled a few times, but the rookie only lost one of those and has yet to throw a pick. Typically rookie QBs throw a ton of interceptions off the bat as they adjust to the league. That hasn't happened so far for Stroud, and his impressive completion percentage also demonstrates his decision-making ability.

Stroud has also done a fine job distributing the ball. Nico Collins appears to be becoming a bonafide No. 1 WR, while rookie Tank Dell and veteran Robert Woods have been quite involved as well.

Stroud will have perhaps his toughest defensive test in week three as the Texans travel to take on the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars.
