"I think every team wants to win every game and unfortunately that's not the way things work," Stidham said. "But each week you've got 17 opportunities in the regular season to make things work, and obviously we want to try and end this year on the right note and go into the offseason feeling good about where we're at.
"And that's what we're going to try and do is just do our job and do the best we can to go out there and make plays, make plays for each other and ultimately try and come away with a win."
For starters, this team still doesn't really know who their quarterback will be next season, whether they say it or not. Derek Carr is no longer with the team at this time, but McDaniels said that doesn't mean he won't be here next season.
Let's face it though, the signs are pointing toward him leaving Las Vegas.
Jarrett Stidham played his tail off last week, and could very well do the same this week. And, he did all that against the best defense in the league. This week, he will go toe-to-toe with the possible MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes who controls the best offense in the league.
This week will be just as much of a test as last week, if not more of a test. The Chiefs beat the 49ers by 21 points. So, Stidham could be the guy next season, or he could be the backup again, which is why this game is so important.
And, the Raiders want to go into the 2023 season on a positive note, as Stidham said. There is so much that this game will be helpful for.
