The Las Vegas Raiders went with the best available player in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft in Brock Bowers, who may be the best player overall in the draft. They didn't have an opportunity to draft a quarterback they liked at that spot, so they went with a tight end.
In the second round, they kept that same strategy. They drafted center and guard Jackson Powers-Johnson from Oregon.
The Raiders didn't have a huge need at guard or center after signing center Andre James to a new deal and bringing Cody Whitehair on a few weeks ago, but JPJ is too good to pass on, especially when you are the Raiders, who need help up front.
Right now, the Raiders have one pick left on day two, and it comes in at pick No. 77. So far, they are killing it, helping the offensive side of the ball.
The Raiders still have needs at quarterback, cornerback, offensive tackle, and a few others. The draft is living up to expectations.
