Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow gets real about his 2022 season

The Las Vegas Raiders didn't play to their full potential last season on the offensive side of the ball. There were really two guys of the skill positions who did what they were supposed to and more. Wide receiver Davante Adams and running back Josh Jacobs, you could say, are the two best players on the team.
There were a lot of guys who didn't pull their own weight, whether it be because they missed time with injuries, just didn't play well, or both. Hunter Renfrow is one of those guys who had a mix of both.
Just two seasons ago, Renfrow had 1,000 receiving yards and was looked at as one of the more technically sound receivers in the league.
Last year he wasn't anywhere near that level of play. And honestly, just like it didn't with the fans, it didn't sit right with him either.
“That’s something that left a bad taste in my mouth and something that I want to get over and prove to them that I’m a guy they can count on and just go and be consistent,” Renfrow told reporters on Friday.
The 2022 season as a whole left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, whether it be the team themselves, the media, or the fans. There were such higher expectations than what the Raiders did, and they didn't fall just short; they fell way short.
It won't get any easier for Renfrow in 2023. He is in one of the deepest receiver rooms in the league with several guys who have played in the system before under Josh McDaniels, like Phillip Dorsett and Jakobi Meyers. Then you have guys like Deandre Carter, Keelan Cole, Cam Sims, and Tre Tucker.
Oh, and the quarterback situation is such a wildcard because we truly have no idea what will happen.
Renfrow is going to have to play harder and better than he ever has. He can do it; it just won't come easy. However, he has to figure something out if he wants to get that bad taste out of his mouth.
Hunter Renfrow’s future with the Raiders is murky at best
Renfrow could easily find himself on the outs when it comes to his career in Las Vegas.
