The Minnesota Vikings' bad season took another turn on Tuesday morning when NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported star wideout, Justin Jefferson, will be placed on IR due to a hamstring injury.
Jefferson suffered the injury during Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and he'll miss the next four games, at minimum.
This is obviously a huge blow to the 1-4 Vikings. Jefferson is the best player on the team and arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. Heading into Week 6, Jefferson was seventh in receptions (36), third in receiving yards (571), and fifth in receiving touchdowns (3).
The Vikings' schedule isn't the easiest over the next four games, either. The team travels to Solider Field in order to take on what looks to be an improving Chicago Bears team in Week 6 before hosting the daunting San Francisco 49ers, traveling to Lambeau Field, and then heading down south to take on the Atlanta Falcons. If Jefferson returns after four games, he'll be able to suit up against the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.
Look for the Vikings to make a corresponding move, as the team currently has just three other wideouts on the depth chart in rookie Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn, and Brandon Powell.
