The most storied coaching tenure in NFL history is set to come to an end.

The New England Patriots and Bill Belichick are expected to part ways after 24 seasons, according to multiple reports. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Mike Reiss were the first to report the news.

""rom sources familiar with those conversations, there was said to be no conflict, no disagreement, and in the end, productive talks resulted in a mutual decision that left both sides comfortable and at ease," ESPN wrote. "Both Belichick and Kraft, as one outside party noted, "took the high road…"

Belichick led New England to six Super Bowl titles during an incredible career in New England.

However, his time with the team reached a nadir in the 2023 season as the Patriots slumped to a dismal 4-13 finish.

Now the team has the unenviable task of finding a replacement for the greatest coach in NFL history, while Belichick will undoubtedly draw significant interest from rival teams looking to fill their head coaching vacancy.

This has been coming for weeks, as the Patriots finished with their worst record. And things have been trending this way for a while.

Belichick and owner Robert Kraft will hold a press conference at Gillette Stadium at 12 p.m. ET.
