While the New England Patriots missed out on DeAndre Hopkins, there seems to be good news about another star free agent.

On ESPN's Get Up, Adam Schefter admitted that he doesn't think the Patriots are done making moves

"Let's see if they take some of this money that could have been earmarked for DeAndre Hopkins, and try to reallocate it to a player like Dalvin Cook," Schefter said on Monday morning.

And along with that report, the Patriots are currently the betting favorites to land Dalvin Cook, moving in front of the Miami Dolphins.

While the running back admitted that he would enjoy playing with Hopkins, it's unlikely that the two will link up. The Tennessee Titans already have Derrick Henry, so they have no need for Cook.

Yet, while the Patriots have Rhamondre Stevenson who is coming off a breakout year, their reliance on the run game could benefit from signing Cook. And they definitely have the money available.

Cook was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round (41st overall pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft. Across six years with the Vikings, Cook appeared in 73 games with 1,282 carries for 5,993 yards and 47 touchdowns. On the receiving side, he had 221 receptions for 1,794 yards and five touchdowns.

With Bill O'Brien calling plays and Mac Jones more motivated than ever, Cook could only elevate this offense and would be the big move the Patriots needed.
