It's no secret the offensive line struggled in Thursday's 20-9 preseason loss to the Houston Texans.

But that doesn't worry one Patriots captain.

Instead he sees it as an interesting opportunity for some of the other members of the team.

"I think, like I was saying earlier, It's a great opportunity for some of the younger guys. I had some of those opportunities early in my career. And it's good because that's what's gonna happen during the season, unfortunately," Andrews said. "It's a good opportunity for me to work with them obviously."

Several offensive linemen have been missing from training camp including Michael Onwenu and Calvin Anderson, along with Trent Brown and Cole Strange who have been sidelined with injuries.

Onwenu, who is the Patriots starting guard, had offseason ankle surgery and is currently on the physically unable to perform list, while Anderson is on the non-football injury list.

In the preseason game, Andrews, Brown and Riley Reiff did not play so it was the backups who got the starting opportunity. The line consisted of Conor McDermott, Atonio Mafi, James Ferentz, Kody Russey, and Sidy Sow (from left to right).

And the struggles were apparent, with the run game certainly suffering.

The Patriots did bring in some additional help, signing offensive lineman Micah Venterpool, who last played in the USFL.

However Andrews has a positive outlook on this, and is right when he mentioned that injuries affect the different positional groups constantly throughout the season. So it's better to work out all the kinks now before the regular season begins.
