New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones is potentially facing serious jail time after he was arrested on Friday evening for trying to bring two loaded firearms on the plane at Boston Logan International Airport.

Jones could "face more than 30 years in prison" if he were convicted and sentenced on each of the charges he faces, a spokesperson for Suffolk District Attorney's office told the Boston Globe.

The two loaded guns were found in his carry-on luggage and Massachusetts State Police were called to Terminal B when the items were recognized. He was booked at the State Police-Logan Airport Barrack, with bail being set at $50,000.

Jones is being charged with two counts of each of the following offenses:

– Possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport.

– Possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card.

– Unlawful possession of a firearm.

– Carrying a loaded firearm.

– Possession of a large-capacity feeding device.

The cornerback was "ticketed for travel to Los Angeles International Airport", according to the TSA and the firearms were found during the "routine x-ray screening of carry-on luggage."

The incident occurred around around 5:30 p.m. Friday at a security checkpoint in Terminal B. Jones was booked at the Logan Airport barracks and bail was set at $50,000.

The Patriots have confirmed that they are aware of the situation, releasing a statement on Friday following the arrest.

“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time,” spokesperson for the Patriots said.

Since the arrest, there has been no further communication from the Patriots or the NFL.
