The New England Patriots are in need of a top receiver and there is one name out there that has the potential to be a good fit for the team.

NFL Insider Matt Lombardo reports that the Broncos are expected to trade wide receiver Jerry Jeudy prior to the deadline (Oct. 31).

So maybe the Patriots will start making some calls to try and fix a part of their offensive woes.

A star out of Alabama, Jeudy was drafted by the Broncos in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He had a solid start to his NFL career in 2020, appearing in 16 games with a total of 52 receptions for 856 yards and three touchdowns.

In his second season, an injury during Week 1 put him on injured reserve, but he was able to come back and play in 10 games, recording 38 receptions for 467 yards, but no touchdowns.

His best season came in 2022, finishing with 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns across 15 games.

But so far this season, he hasn't be able to shine due to Denver's poor start. He missed Week 1 due to a hamstring injury, but returned Week 2. In four games, Jeudy has 17 receptions for 208 yards and no touchdowns.

New England is in desperate need of a top receiver this season, with no one truly standing out. And injuries have also not been kind to the receiving core.

New England is currently without JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas who are currently sidelined due to head injuries they sustained in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

So why not take advantage of a top target potentially being available. And he can reunite with some other Alabama alumni including quarterback Mac Jones.

The Patriots have a few potential ways they can go about this trade, even potentially giving away a third or fourth round pick for Jeudy.

Let's see if the Patriots decide to make a move to improve the offense by inquiring about Jeudy as the trade deadline looms closer.
