The New Orleans Saints are wrapping up their minicamp this week, and they'll have a lengthy break before training camp at the end of next month.
That didn't stop them from looking at some veteran help, in particular, on the offensive line. New Orleans hosted veteran center Billy Price on Monday.
Price was a first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018 out of Ohio State. He missed six games with a foot injury as a rookie but started the other 10 games. After his third season, the Bengals declined his fifth-year option which would make him a free agent in 2022.
Cincinnati didn't wait to part ways with Price as they traded him to the New York Giants in August 2021 in exchange for defensive tackle B.J. Hill. Price would start 15 games for the Giants.
Price was signed to the practice squad of the Las Vegas Raiders last September but was signed off of it by the Arizona Cardinals a month later. After a knee injury to Rodney Hudson, Price made 11 starts.
The Saints have one of the better centers in the NFL in Erik McCoy. However, with him missing nine games over the last two seasons it made sense for the Saints to take a look at Price.
