Roseman, Eagles, trade

Before the trade deadline in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles made a move that somewhat shocked a ton of people.

It somewhat signified that they were going to go all in this year.

They traded for former Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears, making their depth on the defensive line absolutely scary. It wasn't a trade they had to make, just one they were fortunate enough to make.

After getting to Philadelphia, Quinn and general manager Howie Roseman both agreed that this would be his only season here, thus signifying the move to go all in 2022 for the Super Bowl.

There were some people that didn't necessarily like the move because it was one that didn't really need to be made.

However, so far, it seems like it wasn't a bad decision, as he's been playing fairly well.

"I'm pleased with Robert [Quinn] and glad he is on this team, and he adds great depth to this already deep offensive line," Sirianni said on Quinn.

"And I just know he is going to make a big play in a big-time situation here real soon because we know how much talent he has and what a good player he is."

As an Eagle, Quinn has five pressures, which may not seem good. Then you factor in that he has only played 38 pass rush snaps since he has been in Philly.

While that's still not great, it's enough to show that Quinn needs more snaps. I get he is a depth piece and the starters at his position are amazing, but if you won't give him many opportunities, what was the point in trading for him?

Quinn can put together good stretches of games, as we have seen before. He just needs more playtime.

While the coaching staff loves him, they need to show that by getting him on the field more.

But, maybe, just maybe the staff has a plan in store. I want to switch up the narrative a few of you may have that that trade was a waste or something of that nature.

In my opinion, the Eagles may have not started playing Quinn a ton yet for a few different reasons.

To start, the Eagles defensive system coached by Jonathan Gannon isn't an easy one, and Quinn has only played four games with the team now. He didn't join before the season and go through a whole training camp to learn everything.

He is in fact learning the defense as he goes.

They could also be saving Quinn and sleeping him fresh for the playoffs. When you are at the age he is at, and have played as much as he has, you need top be fresh for the more important games. In the playoffs they will definitely need Quinn, and they will need him fresh.

Don't think the Eagles' trade decision was a bad one yet. Let them have time to show what they can do.
