The Philadelphia Eagles are signing linebacker Rashaan Evans to the practice squad, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The move comes following the announcement that starting linebacker Nakobe Dean will miss several weeks with a foot injury.

Originally a first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2018, Evans played for the Atlanta Falcons last season. He started all 17 games, logging 159 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries for Atlanta.

The Eagles face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 and are thin–not to mention young– at the linebacker position, so the addition of a veteran like Evans only makes sense.
