Former NFL LB Emmanuel Acho compares Eagles to 'Sierra Mist'

Former NFL linebacker-turned-analyst Emmanuel Acho just compared the Philadelphia Eagles to bad soda.

During Monday's episode of Fox Sports 1's "SPEAK," Acho called out the 2023 Eagles for being a knockoff version of last year's Eagles.

"This year's Eagles is a knockoff version of last year's Eagles," Acho explained. "It's like Sierra Mist of Sprite, RC Cola of Coke. It's a knockoff version."

So he's saying they're the much cheaper, less fizzy and more watery kind of soda.

Acho backed up his analogy with a list full of valid reasonings as to why this year's Eagles are simply not as good.

"What position group on this year's Eagles is better than last year's Eagles? Offensive line is not as good," Achos said. "Defensive line surely not as good. Linebacker core… let's not even talk about it. Safeties… don't forget Chauncey Gardner-Johnson led the league in interceptions until he got hurt. Not to mention [Marucs] Epp who went to the Raiders was also a really good player. Safety is not as good. Cornerbacks are older but shout out Darius Slay still trying to hold it down. Running back room in totality, as far as the way they're being used, not as good. Wide receiving corpse is the same. A.J. Brown is probably going to be second-team All-Pro this year. He was second-team All-Pro last year. And Jalen Hurts is not the Jalen Hurts of last year. This year's Eagles is a knockoff version of last year's Eagles."

Acho stops comparing the Eagles to bad soda and instead compares them to a wanna-be Rolls-Royce Phantom.

"Like you look at that Chrysler 300 until that Rolls Phantom pulls up. Looks similar, but it's not. The reason the Eagles aren't playing that well is because they don't have the same talent that they had," Acho said.

It's hard to disagree with Acho after watching the Birds get blown out in Week 13 and then fail to score a single offensive touchdown in their Week 14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

The Eagles have four more games and another Super Bowl appearance to make in order to change Acho's and several fans' minds.
