Back-to-back weeks of dominance, the Steelers are proving a tough task for any opposing offense.
But following Sunday night, they just reached a mark the last three Steelers Super Bowl teams did:
History Says Pittsburgh is Super Bowl Bound
Per Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot, after recording their eighth takeaway of the season on Sunday night, Pittsburgh is on a historic pace. The last time the Steelers recorded eight takeaways in only three games was in 2010. Before that? 2008. And before that, 2005.
What do those three years all have in common? Super Bowl appearances for the Pittsburgh Steelers:
Now, as many Tomlin detractors like to point out, 2010 was over 10 years ago, meaning a lot has changed in the NFL since Pittsburgh's last Super Bowl run.
And while the league now runs through offense, the playoffs are still about who can rush the passer. No one is arguably better in the league at doing so than the Steelers, meaning there just may be something to this stat.
