The Steelers are one of the franchises that embody the draft and develop mantra. They aim to create their teams through the draft and build their players through coaching.

Sometimes though, players can outgrow the system, or they don't exactly pan out, leading to departures in free agency.

Per his own Twitter account, it seems Terrell Edmunds tenure as a Pittsburgh Steeler is coming to an end.

Edmunds was drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. After a rocky start to his career, Edmunds provided help as a functional starter over the past few seasons.

Often playing in a variety of roles on defense, Edmunds was deployed everywhere from linebacker to nickel corner, with reps at his true position of safety working in towards the end of his Steeler career.

Edmunds likely finishes his time in Pittsburgh recording five interceptions, 26 pass breakups, and 410 tackles.

A stat line that speaks to his versatility, While he may have a highlight of mishaps, Edmunds still oozes athletic traits.

Those two plays speak to the array of traits and alignments that Edmunds can bring to a defense. A sure tackler and rangy defender, teams can certainly find a spot for someone like Edmunds.

The experienced veteran just turned 26 and has proved durable over the duration of his career, meaning he will likely have a considerable market.

A favorite in the pre-draft process thanks to his absurd NFL Combine, Edmunds will garner support from personnel departments and pro scouts across the league now that he's on the open market.

Wherever Edmunds ends up, his time as a Steeler will be remembered, and with such a nice farewell message, we would do well to send him our best in free agency and the rest of his career.
