Many of you were probably sound asleep when the biggest news of free agency broke close to midnight on Wednesday.

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cincinnati Bengals signed former Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens tackle Orlando Brown Jr.

So big deal, the Bengals probably overpaid for a solid tackle, what does that have to do with Pittsburgh?

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN confirmed that the Steelers took interest in Orlando Brown Jr. looking to add a franchise cornerstone at a deprived position.

Now, considering the price that the Bengals paid for Brown Jr., it's probably best the Steelers front office let him join Cincinnati.

Brown Jr., is a good player, a four-time Pro Bowler, and a Super Bowl Champion at the ripe age of 26, his future contract appropriately represents his current resume.

But that's the thing with contracts. Players want to be paid for what they've done, while organizations pay for what's to come.

And because Brown Jr. is just now approaching his prime, perhaps this move works out for the Bengals.

But as former NFL general manager, Michael Lombardi always says:

"You get in trouble when you start paying good players, great player money."
