The Pittsburgh Steelers put a bow on week one of training camp on Sunday, with the team taking a day off Monday ahead of Pittsburgh's first padded practice on Tuesday. 

It was a quick week but one that featured plenty of takeaways, injury updates, and even trade rumors.

Steelers Report To Camp (Wednesday, July 24th)

The first person to arrive at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, rookie first-rounder Troy Fautanu was excited to kick things off while fielding questions about his ongoing position change. 

After a long offseason that saw the Steelers make a huge decision on the future of Najee Harris, the back-to-back-to-back 1000-yard rusher spoke to the media for the first time since last season. 

In his first comments of camp, Russell Wilson told everyone who would listen that he and the Steelers have one goal: To bring the Lombardi back to Pittsburgh. 

Cordarrelle Patterson hadn't started off his tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the best foot this offseason, and that continued when the Steelers announced he would be unavailable for the start of camp. 

In his introductory presser, Coach Tomlin showed his experience by dip, diving, and dodging any question that concerned the rep allocation of his QBs. 

Steelers Training Camp Day 1 (Thursday, July 25th)

Arguably the biggest surprise of camp around the league, when the Steelers came out to practice for their inaugural training session of 2024, presumptive starter Russell Wilson was not active. 

Knowing that many were concerned with why Russell Wilson didn't practice, Mike Tomlin addressed the media on behalf of the QB and his timetable for return. 

As if day one of camp didn't come with enough drama, George Pickens and new WR Coach Zach Azzanni got into it after practice, with Pickens not taking kindly to what Azzani had to say. 

After both addressed the media on day one of camp, it was clear that while both Heyward and Khan have similar long-term goals, they weren't viewing things through the same prism.
