Injury report observations:

  • Samuel Womack III has been added to the injury report with a knee injury. While that might not seem significant, San Francisco does not have another corner behind him on the active roster. With the four corners ahead of him on the depth chart all likely to see significant playing time, the 49ers will need to promote a player from the practice squad if Womack can't go.
  • Tre Swilling and Shemar Jean-Charles are the two cornerbacks on the practice squad, and the latter may be the favorite to be called up because of his inside-out versatility.
  • 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan had previously indicated starting weakside linebacker Greenlaw's injury was nothing more than wear and tear and he seems on track to feature on Sunday after returning to practice.
