Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders wasted no time.

Immediately after talks broke down between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kliff Kingsbury, the Commanders swooped in.

Peter Schrager reports that Kingsbury has agreed to terms to become the new offensive coordinator in Washington.

And with that, speculation has already begun about the Commanders potentially trading up for the No. 1 overall pick. Especially considering Kingsbury coached Caleb Williams last season and he is expected to be selected first.

This is huge for new head coach Dan Quinn, who gets a star coaching hire so soon after taking the job. And it happened after Kingsbury "withdrawn himself from consideration" for the Raiders job due a contractual hang-up.

Kingsbury started his coaching career at the collegiate level with Houston as an offensive quality control coach. He moved to become co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for two season.

In 2012, Texas A&M moved in and stole him to serve at the same position for them. But that was short-lived.

In 2013, he became the head coach for Texas Tech and remained there through the 2018 season. However, in 2019 he made the jump to the NFL as the Arizona Cardinals head coach. But he was fired after the Cardinals finished the 2022 season with a 4-13 record.

In 2023, he joined USC as a senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach, working directly with Williams.

And now he's back in the NFL. So let's see what happens next.
