Von Miller is expected to become one of the Buffalo Bills’ biggest strengths on defense this year. But right now, he has the chance to help out the recruiting department.
After the pass rusher posted a video of practice on his Instagram account, one of the best available free agents stopped by in the comments.
We’re talking about star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who remains unsigned after suffering a torn ACL in the Super Bowl. OBJ’s comment on Miller’s post certainly raises an eyebrow.
“What’s the locker next to you look like?” reads Beckham’s IG comment.
Although it clearly doesn’t mean the Bills and Beckham Jr. are legitimately interested in each other, the social media interaction has sent Buffalo fans daydreaming.
It would definitely be something special to couple OBJ and Josh Allen in an offense that already has Stefon Diggs and several young receivers on the rise. Though it’s worth noting Beckham Jr. isn’t expected to be ready for Week 1.
However, he could be the perfect upgrade the Bills are looking for to fulfill the Lombardi Trophy-caliber expectations set for them in 2022.
Just ask the L.A. Rams, who added his talents last year when they were trying to do the same and witnessed OBJ deliver.
In eight games with Matthew Stafford, Beckham Jr. caught 27 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns. He became a huge part of Sean McVay’s offense and shined alongside Cooper Kupp.
Speaking of the Rams, if the Bills become interested in pursuing the talented wide receiver, they’d likely be competing against L.A. According to reports, the reigning Super Bowl champions have “maintained interest” in the 29-year-old.
Granted, it’s only an Instagram interaction and those have proven to be unreliable in the NFL free agency world.
However, it poses a big question for the Bills. If you’re going all-in, why not get a one-year deal done for a player that can upgrade your offense when healthy?
