Buffalo Bills fans have much to be thankful and Thursday’s news just added to a long list of such things. Cornerback Tre’Davious White is active and ready to play versus the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.
The news feels more like a Christmas gift than anything else considering Bills Mafia has been waiting for his return for a long, long time. At one point, it felt like Week 5 was in play for the 2019 First-Team All-Pro.
It’s been 364 days since White tore his ACL against the New Orleans Saints. The Bills’ cornerback will have to fight some mixed feelings when he’s on the field later today but there’s no questioning his impact on the team.
White’s return raises a big question for the Bills’ cornerback group as it remains to be seen which of the two rookies will emerge as the true starter opposite of White moving forward. Will it be first-round pick Kaiir Elam? Or the most consistently played Christian Benford?
Bills inactives vs Lions:
Center Mitch Morse is inactive, as is DE AJ Epenesa.— katherine fitzgerald (@kfitz134) November 24, 2022
Bills inactives: Morse, Epensea, LB Tremaine Edmunds, DE Greg Rousseau, CB Cam Lewis, TE Tommy Sweeney, LB Baylon Spector
The Bills’ defensive front will be without starters DE Gregory Rousseau and LB Tremaine Edmunds again. The two absences will carry significant weight as Buffalo plays a Lions squad that loves to run the football and stick to it.
As for the opposing team, here are their inactives:
Bills’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs was slated to have a big-time matchup against Jeff Okudah, but the starting cornerback won’t suit up for the Lions.
