The Buffalo Bills are dealing with the highs and the lows in their defensive backfield. While they’re finally getting Tre’Davious White back, they might have to wait longer than expected to see star safety Jordan Poyer back on the field.
Bills’ GM Brandon Beane talked to the press on Wednesday and indicated Poyer was day-to-day after missing practice with an elbow injury.
However, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has a less promising label for the status of last year’s All-Pro defender as he indicates the safety is actually week-to-week.
Jordan Poyer, who did not practice today, is considered week-to-week with his elbow injury, source said. https://t.co/shqNkp9Krx— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 2, 2022
While Beane obviously knows more about the Bills’ safety and where he stands, the general manager might be less inclined to share the truth than the reporter.
Only time will tell which side is telling the truth but facing the Jets could lead to the Bills taking a similar path to the one they did when facing the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the season.
That weekend, the Bills rested multiple players to get them rest before a big game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Considering Week 10’s game should be tougher for Buffalo as they will face the Minnesota Vikings, I’d be surprised if Poyer gets the green light for Sunday.
Poyer left Sunday night’s game after feeling his elbow pop, said Beane in Wednesday’s press conference.
