After a tough defeat in the Miami heat last weekend, the Buffalo Bills face another tough test against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend. But that’s not the only challenge the Bills are facing this week.

With an injury report that reached 11 players last week, the Bills will have the most scrutinized reports in the NFL in Week 4.

Among those names that will be monitored is defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. Unfortunately, the hamstring injury might keep Phillips out longer than many hoped as Bills HC Sean McDermott doubts the 330-pound defender will be ready to go on Sunday.

Instead, Phillips’ injury should be considered week-to-week.

Phillips has been one of the best players on the Bills’ defense. Last weekend, Buffalo managed to hold the Dolphins to 2.4 yards per carry but the weird flow of the game makes it difficult to evaluate both teams’ performances. After all, Miami had an uncommonly low 39 offensive plays.

Phillips was missed in the pass rush department, too. Through two games played, the Bills’ defensive tackle has eight pressures, two sacks, and two QB hits.

As for the rest of the Bills’ injuries, expect a long list of players once more.

Heading into Sunday, the Bills are three-point favorites over the Baltimore Ravens despite being the road team. Winning in the NFL is tough to do with a hurt roster but the depth of this team is difficult to second-guess.

According to Football Outsider’s DVOA metric (which measures efficiency), this match-up will feature two of the top three teams in the NFL. The Bills rank at #1 through three weeks and the Ravens #3.
