Former NFL linebacker turned ESPN analyst Sam Acho made a statement about Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen on Friday that can best be described as bizarre.

Acho said he believes Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will have a better game this week than Allen.

The Dolphins and the Bills play each other on Sunday afternoon in Miami.

Look, Tua has been good to start the season.

But Acho needs to take a step back here.

Allen looks like an early front-runner to win the NFL MVP award this year. And while his numbers aren’t out of this world, that’s partially due to the fact that he hasn’t really had to play a full game yet this season thanks to the Bills’ blowout wins against the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans.

Tua still has a lot to prove. Allen, though, has a body of work that shows his quick start isn’t a fluke. Tua doesn’t have that.

I know analysts like to bring a “fresh view” and go against the grain with some of their takes, but this one is a stretch.

Allen and the Bills will be looking to make another big statement in week three. The Dolphins are playing well which means Buffalo will need Allen to be at the top of his game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Allen has his best game of the season on Sunday against the Dolphins.
