The NFL fined Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs $10,609 this week for taunting Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the season-opener.
That’s despite the fact that there was no flag thrown on the play for taunting.

Here’s the touchdown where Diggs scored and “taunted” Ramsey.

This is completely ridiculous. No flag was thrown, yet Diggs is getting fined?
That was nothing more than a competitive moment between two of the NFL’s top players.
Ramsey has talked plenty of trash — specifically about Bills quarterback Josh Allen — so it’s not a surprise that Diggs let the Rams cornerback hear it after scoring on him.
No fine was necessary. And the NFL looks foolish for handing out a fine for a moment that was tame by almost anyone’s standards.
