The Chicago Bears lost veteran defensive lineman Eddie Goldman to the Atlanta Falcons during free agency in March. But now, the Falcons have lost Goldman to retirement before training camp starts.

Goldman announced his decision to step away from the game of football on Tuesday, ending a six-year career that started in 2015. NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport was the first to break the news.

Goldman appeared in 81 games for the Bears, starting 73. He finishes his NFL career with 175 total tackles, 13.0 sacks, 18.0 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, and two fumble recoveries. The Bears drafted Goldman in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Florida State.
