The vulnerable Chicago Bears defense caught a major break ahead of its Week 10 matchup with the Detroit Lions.

The Lions announced that wide receiver Josh Reynolds will be out for the clash between two NFC North foes.

Reynolds has been quietly putting together a strong season in Detroit. While most people are paying attention to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Reynolds has put up similar numbers so far.

St. Brown leads Detroit in receiving yards (399), but Reynolds is close behind (357). He has been a reliable No. 2 option for Jared Goff, making big plays down the field in a surprisingly explosive Lions offense.

Chicago’s defense has performed well against the pass this season, ranking 10th in the NFL allowing opponents to throw for just 200.7 yards per game.

Sunday provides the Bears with an opportunity to rectify some of the mistakes from the last two weeks. Goff’s life has been made difficult as he is now without Reynolds and tight end T.J. Hockenson, who was traded to the Minnesota Vikings at the NFL’s trade deadline.
