The Chicago Bears are in the middle of preparing for their matchup this Sunday with the 0-1-1 Houston Texans.

Many things are on the agenda, including better tackling from the defense and a more positive showing from the passing attack offensively.

But another thing that’s on the agenda — and is always on the agenda — is the health of the team. The Bears dropped their first injury report of the week today and it included some notable names and one unexpected addition.

Velus Jones Jr. has been a mainstay on the injury report dating back to the preseason, so his inclusion on the report isn’t much of a surprise. Dane Cruikshank suffered a hamstring injury against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, and as you can see, he failed to practice today.

The one unexpected name is Roquan Smith. Smith didn’t exit Sunday night’s game with a hip injury, so maybe this is simply an act of maintenance for the talented linebacker.

As the week progresses, we’ll get a better idea on the injury situation and how it’ll affect Sunday’s game.
