When you think about the Chicago Bears, you probably don’t think about them being one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.

But not only are the Bears explosive on offense, they’re actually the most explosive offense in the league.

The Bears have the most explosive plays in the NFL with 99. They have 68 run plays over 10 yards and 31 pass plays over 20 yards.

Chicago’s 99 explosive plays are two more than the NFC East leading Philadelphia Eagles (the Bears have played one more game than Philly).

The Los Angeles Rams, the defending Super Bowl champions, are last in explosive plays with 51.

Obviously, the Bears have a lot of areas they need to address — there’s a reason they’re 3-10 and out of the playoffs.

But the 99 explosive plays this season should show fans that Chicago has a bright future with Matt Eberflus leading the franchise and Justin Fields piloting the offense.

We haven’t really had a chance to see how new general manager Ryan Poles is going to rebuild the Bears’ roster. But he essentially has a blank slate entering this offseason. And the explosive plays stat shows that Chicago has a ton of potential. That should be able to attract some top free agents and allow Poles to put a playoff contender on the field as soon as next season.
