The Chicago Bears took the field on Saturday for their first preseason game of the year.

And it didn’t take long for Justin Fields to show Bears fans exactly what they wanted to see.

Midway through the first quarter, Fields hooked up with wide receiver Darnell Mooney for a nice 26 yards gain.

There are so many things to like about that play. For starters, it’s a great throw from Fields in a third-down situation. He put it where only Mooney could catch it. If he doesn’t make the play, it’s an incompletion and Chicago punts. Much better than a turnover.

And as for Mooney, he made a great adjustment in the air to make the catch. Clearly, these are two guys who are on the same page.

It’s only one play, but Bears fans are undoubtedly hoping to see a lot more of this from Fields and Mooney this season.
