CBS Sports believes there’s a “sleeper rookie” on the Cincinnati Bengals‘ roster who could “shine” in 2022.
Chris Trapasso, a draft analyst for CBS Sports, listed Bengals defensive back Cam Taylor-Britt as a rookie to watch this upcoming season.
Taylor-Britt was the No. 60 overall pick (second round) by Cincinnati in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Here’s what Trapasso had to say about Taylor-Britt:
Taylor-Britt is a savvy and also noticeably athletic outside corner with stellar instincts to routinely disrupt passes at all levels of the field. The Bengals got outstanding productivity from their mostly free-agent built secondary last season. Smartly, the Bengals added plenty of youthful reinforcement to that group, and Taylor-Britt should get time on the field if and when Eli Apple’s play dips from its high peaks in 2021.

The Bengals selected Taylor-Britt, a former Nebraska standout, with an eye toward the 2023 season. Cornerback Eli Apple will be a free agent again after the 2022 season and Taylor-Britt would be a perfect option to replace him.
However, if Apple struggles in 2022, then it’s certainly plausible that Taylor-Britt could surpass him on the depth chart and become a starter for the Bengals this season.
If that happens, then it likely means that Taylor-Britt is practicing/performing at a high level.
