One Kansas City Chiefs player might regret some of his comments toward the Cincinnati Bengals.
Chiefs defensive back Justin Reid decided to engage in some trash talk this week that was directed at Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, who has been on a tear lately.
Reid told reporters that he’s going to lock Higgins down on Sunday.
“I’m gonna lock him down,” said Reid. “He’s a very talented receiver too. More of a finesse type of guy, not the best blocker.”

His words show just how motivated the team is about beating the #Bengals.

Higgins has 23 receptions for 322 yards and a touchdown over his last three games.
I’m not sure why Reid decided to make this comment — I guess it’s just what defensive backs do — but the only thing he accomplished was giving Higgins plenty of motivation to show out on Sunday.
Of course, it’s not like either team necessarily needs the motivation. Both teams know this is a pivotal AFC matchup that could have major playoff implications.
